Compassion Coaching

Does This Sound Like You?

  • I feel like chaos is controlling my life.

  • I do-do-do for others but not myself.

  • I can’t find the time for self-care.

  • I’m racked with guilt if I take time for myself.

Are You Ready for a More Delightful Life?

Do you feel like you are being sucked into a vortex of chaos? What if you could live your live it differently, without harsh self-judgment and with more joy and delight?

If you don’t take care of yourself, you’re eventually going to fail at taking care of the people you love most. This is crushing. You know this.

By changing the way I speak to myself and care for myself, I’ve been able to bring a new sense of peace to my life. Being supportive and kind to “me” creates the ease and flow I’m looking for in life. In each one of us is a voice, the voice of kindness, asking us to love ourselves and take care of ourselves so that we can feel more secure, accepted and alive. Self-compassion is a place of calm, a refuge from the chaos of endless self-judgment, so that we can finally stop asking, “Am I good enough?”

Before you jump into the Holiday season, why not give yourself the gift of ease and comfort?

What Do I Get?

Relax and make time for yourself and your care.

  • Say goodbye to the idea of time being a bandit that steals away your own ability to take care of yourself.

  • Allow your inner control freak to take a vacation over the holidays by changing that conversation in your head, forever.

  • Implement small acts of kindness for yourself on a consistent daily basis because you understand your worth.

It’s easier than you might think, and it could change your life.

Compassion Coaching

What is It?

Compassion Coaching is a customized process developed by Dr. Cynthia Phelps and uses a combination of techniques to get you where you want to go in life. Based on research in Self-Compassion, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavior Change, we will dig deep into the conversations you are having in your head, and then shift towards compassion.

Coaching is different from therapy in that it guides you to solve immediate problems, and stays focused on the present state of your life. Coaching is a highly practical process to get you the life you want. Compassion Coaching helps you to improve your relationship with yourself, so you can reap all of the benefits of having high self-compassion.

What Can I Expect?

During the coaching process we will meet weekly and set goals to leave the chaos behind and bring more peace and delight into your life. Each week we will assess our progress, talk about shifting priorities, solve problems, engage in an exercise to improve your internal relationship with yourself, and set new goals for the next week.

Typically each coaching session will last an hour and you will be provided with a short summary of the session and a set of things to accomplish before the next session. Coaching can be done face-to-face if you are located in San Antonio, or over Skype or by phone.

How Much Does it Cost?

Your first 30 minute consult is free! Just fill out the coaching Intake Form and we can get started.

A package of 6 sessions is just $499.  Not only is this fiscally responsible but you will be making a declaration: “I’m ready for change.” Commit to a package now!

Compassion Credentials

Dr. Phelps completed the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher training program in 2015 in Garrison NY.

MSC is a program created by Dr. Kristin Neff and is effective at raising people’s levels of Self-Compassion. Self Compassion is critical for behavior change, as research shows that people who are able to treat themselves kindly are more motivated to change, and better able to sustain long-term changes.

We will use MSC along with tried and true methods such as cognitive behavioral techniques to help you make that change you have been longing for.
